New Delhi: Major fire mishap at IGI Airport

New Delhi: A fire mishap at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport this morning was hard to bring under control as several important documents of the customs department were gutted in the fire that broke out on second floor.

Four fire tenders were called in to contain the fire after an emergency call was received at 7.45am, News18 reports.

The fire was brought under control by 9 pm while no injuries or casualty has so far been reported.

Besides several documents from the customs, the fire engulfed also engulfed a couple of rooms said Sanjay Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport).

“We have called a team of experts to ascertain the exact cause of fire and the probe is underway,” he added.

Sources said a team from Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini is taking samples from the spot.
