‘Nervous’ Kejriwal wants to be protagonist of all breaking news: BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday alleged that a ‘nervous’ Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wants to be the protagonist of all breaking news and said his unwarranted criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is highly condemnable.

BJP leader Nupur Sharma said that the CBI conducted the raid on the orders of a court and not the government.

“Are they going to challenge the court? If you go with the reaction of Kejriwal and Jaitley ji, it is amply clear that the more nervous man is Mr. Kejriwal. It is clear the Mr. Kejriwal has avoided, perhaps not taken any action against Mr. (Rajender) Kumar despite repeated complaints against him,” Sharma told ANI.

“Mr. Kejriwal should be reminded that he has made slanderous, unfounded allegation against various people without any evidence. I think he should rethink on his strategy. He just wants to be the protagonist of all breaking news possible. And he is more interested in running the Twitter account than the Delhi Government,” she added.

Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay echoing similar sentiments said Kejriwal’s vocal assertions and his body language shows his desperation.

“Some kind of question mark can be seen in his behavior. It seems that the Delhi Secretariat has become a home for the corrupt people. If someone has to give an award of liar of the year or u-turn of the year then it should be given to Kejriwal. Is Arvind Kejriwal fighting against corruption or supporting it? Why is he distressed with it? Why is he reacting in haste?” he asked.

Kejriwal had yesterday alleged that the real purpose of the CBI raid in his office was to spirit away a file in which Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was the central figure in a scam pertaining to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Jaitley, however, rubbished Kejriwal’s allegation.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal’s Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar was questioned again by the CBI today in connection with a corruption case.

Kumar was questioned by the CBI for about seven hours late last night after the probe agency sleuths raided his Delhi Secretariat office.

Kumar has been booked under Sections of IPC on charges of criminal conspiracy and under various Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act for allegedly favouring a private company in five contracts worth 9.5 crore rupees during 2007 to 2014. (ANI)
