New Delhi, July 25: Nepalese Defence Minister Vidya Devi Bhandari today called on Leader of Opposition L K Advani and is understood to have discussed the political situation in her country. Sources close to Advani said Bhandari made a courtesy call on him lasting around 20 minutes.
She is understood to have discussed the political situation in Nepal, among other issues. Bhandari, who is on an official visit to India, had called on Defence Minister A K Antony earlier this week, when India agreed to resume arms supplies to the Nepalese army.
India has also assured Nepal that it would start recruitment of Gorkhas into its army which had been discontinued two years ago in the wake of Maoists gaining political prominence in the neighbouring country.
