Nepal to receive stern reprimand from Krishna

New Delhi, April 20: External Affairs Minister SM Krishna is likely to deliver a strong message to Nepal to curb anti-India activities during his three-day visit. According to sources, Krishna is “likely to focus on bilateral issues and irritants in the relationship”.

Sources said Krishna’s strong message to Nepal would address New Delhi’s security concerns too.

According to a release by the Foreign Ministry, Krishna’s three-day official visit to Nepal comes “at the invitation of the Government of Nepal”. This would be his second visit to Nepal after assuming charge as External Affairs Minister.

“The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level interaction between the two countries,” the release added.

During the visit, Krishna will call on the Nepalese President and Prime Minister. Krishna will also meet other political leaders of Nepal during his visit.

According to the release, Krishna will “visit Birgunj to lay the foundation stone of the Terai Roads Project and of the integrated checkpost which are being constructed with Indian cooperation”.
