Nepal PM Prachanda resigns, Congress President Sher Bahadur to be next PM

Nepal: Nepal PM Prachanda has resigned from his position paving way for the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to be elected as next Prime minister. Prachanda, who is now 62, had earlier informed his cabinet about his plan to resign from the post of Prime Minister.

Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal(Maoist-Centre) has officially announced his decision during addressing the nation on television from his office in Singhadurbar. He highlighted the achievements of his party in the past 10 months during the addressing.

Earlier Prachanda served as a Prime Minister of Nepal from the August 2008 to May 2009. Last year he took over the seat as the Prime Minister on August 4, 2016.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal also known as Prachanda, was expected to resign during his address in the Parliament on Tuesday, but that was postponed as the Speaker adjourned the House, as reported in International Business Times.
