Nepal, India struck by another powerful earthquake

The epicentre of the strong earthquake that shook Nepal on Tuesday was close to Mount Everest.

The earthquake measured 7.4 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was 68 km from Namche Bazar, northeast of Kathmandu.

Namche Bazaar is the starting point for those who want to climb Mount Everest.

The distance between Namche Bazaar and Mount Everest is about 30 km.

Mount Everest is the world’s highest peak at 8,848 metres.

Reports reaching here said that there was considerable panic in Namche Bazar, specially after the April 25 temblor.

People rushed out of their homes and offices in cities like Patna in Bihar and Gurgaon near Delhi.

“News of an earthquake hitting Nepal again has come. Several parts of India also felt the tremors. MHA is collecting more details and info,” tweeted Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
