Nepal, September 03: The Nepal government sources on Wednesday (September 2) said that the fake Indian currency racket is a serious cause of concern. Taking note of the Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) issue, sources said that the government has said that they will try to do their best to crack down heavily on those involved in this racket.
However, they cannot take any action against anyone including Nepal’s Prince Paras unless India lodges a formal complaint. So far, Nepal claims there has been no official complaint from India and are tight lipped about Prince Para’s link with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Investigation into the fake currency racket had earlier led to some very startling revelations linking Nepal’s former Prince Paras to underworld kingpin – Dawood Ibrahim as the two men who are orchestrating the whole fake currency operation. The revelations came during the interrogation of two Nepali nationals caught by the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) who were arrested trying to smuggle in the fake currency notes into India.
However, the Nepalese government maintain that there is no such racket operating within the country and they have been used only as a transit point, added sources.
Paras is the son of the former king who has now taken refuge in Singapore used his influence to ensure the money reached the transit points on the India-Nepal border without any hitch.
