Neither Congress nor BJP will get majority in general election, predicts KTR

Karimnagar (Telangana): K.T.Rama Rao on Thursday predicted that neither Congress nor BJP will get full majority in the upcoming general elections.

Addressing party workers at the launch of the parliamentary election campaign in Karimnagar, TRS working president KTR said, “Neither Congress nor BJP will get a full majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”

He claimed that TRS will play a crucial role in forming a coalition government.

KTR also accused the central government of ignoring Telangana. “The leaders at the centre always develop their native states. To develop Telangana, we need more of TRS MPs in Delhi who can strongly fight for the development of the state,” he added.

He criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘never responding’ to the requests of the state government to accord national project status to Kaleshwaram project. He claimed that the Centre has ignored recommendations of NITI Aayog to sanction Rs 23,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha.

TRS working president ridiculed Congress leaders for attempting to make the upcoming general elections as Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi affair. “Telangana Congress leaders run to Delhi to get tickets. How can such leaders do good for the state?” he asked.

KTR exhorted people to vote for TRS. He said, “The time has come for the people to decide who they want to elect. Who would be your next leader? TRS leaders (Telangana gulabilu) who fight for the welfare of Telangana or Congress leaders (Delhi gulaamlu)who never cared for Telangana?”

He claimed that Telangana has witnessed rapid development in the past four-and-half years. “The welfare schemes introduced by Chief Minister K Chadrashekhar Rao helped TRS register a resounding victory in the Assembly elections,” he added.

During the meeting, KTR reminded the attendees that KCR started his agitation for the separate state of Telangana from Karimnagar. “The entire country looked at Karimnagar when KCR started his agitation for separate Telangana from the same place,” he said.

KTR also asked the party cadre to take the upcoming elections as a challenge and ensure victory for the TRS candidate in Karimnagar by a huge margin.
