The incident took place in Kurnool district where a 17-year-old girl was abducted, confined to a room at a lodge for a week, and raped allegedly by her neighbours. The abductors after that freed the girl.
Police inspector B Srinivasulu said that , a missing complaint was registered on January 17. The girl was kidnapped to Kurnool city from Nandavaram. She was confined to a lodge in Kurnool.
A complaint was lodged by the girl, after she returned home. She alleged that the accused enforced her to drink alcohol, and beat her several times.
A special teamwas formed by the police to arrest the accused. The police identified the abductors as two of her neighbours. Police registered a case under Nirbhaya Act.
The girl was sent for medical examination. Local leaders and relatives of the girl staged dharna in the village demanding strict action against the accused.
