Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that any move to negotiate with Israel would be an “unforgivable mistake”. His statement came days after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s statement in which the later speaking to American newspaper had said that Israelis were entitled to live peacefully on their own land.
Though Saudi Arabia does not officially recognise Israel, Mohammed bin Salman’s comments are seen as a sign of enhanced bilateral ties.
Khamenei in a statement posted on his official website said: “Movement toward negotiation with the cheating, lying and oppressive regime (of Israel) is a big, unforgivable mistake that will push back the victory of the people of Palestine.” He urged the people of Muslim countries to defeat Israel.
