Although Telangana government had announced to give proper place to Urdu language but Urdu in legislative council is being neglected. There is no arrangement for translation of assembly agenda and other important papers in Urdu. Urdu translators were said to be allotted for Andhra Pradesh assembly and there is no Urdu knowing person in Telangana assembly while they were the most needed in Telangana.
Assembly members, on Tuesday, made complaint with the speaker in this regard. Another city MLA invited speaker Madhusudhan Chari’s attention towards the issue that the resolution passed in assembly yesterday against injustice done towards Telangana in power supply and other sectors has no Urdu or English translation. The resolution was provided to assembly members only in Telugu. As a result they are ignorant of the matter of the resolution. He said there is neither a Urdu staff in the Telangana assembly nor Urdu translator to provide translation of Telugu speeches to non-Telugu members.
