Hyderabad, November 03: More than 24 Muslim organizations which support T-movement staged a protest “Dharna” at NTR Stadium yesterday.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan Member, Politburo of TDP while addressing the gathering said that after the formation A.P. State, Muslims suffered a lot and it could be compensated only by the formation of Telangana state. He said that right from 1956 onwards the Muslim community experienced losses to the maximum.
One lakh seventy thousand crore rupees worth Wakf properties were destroyed in Hyderabad alone. He said that as a member of Politburo of TDP, he has presented a report to Justice Sri Krishna Committee about the damages caused to the Muslims in terms of loss of palaces, gardens and jobs.
He told the gathering that through slogans and speeches, Telangana can’t be formed. It is possible only when all the political parties supporting Telangana come together on a common platform and intensify the agitation. He further said that T-movement has gone out of the hands of its leaders, it has now become a mass movement of the public. People from all walks of life have joined this movement and they are actively participating in it.
He congratulated Konda Lakshman Bapuji for starting hunger strike. It will certainly have an effect on the Central Govt. During the course of fast unto death if the health of Bapuji deteriorates, its complete responsibility would be on P., Dr. Manmohan Singh & Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of UPA.
He congratulated the organizers of Muslim Dharna programmes and said that it is a false propaganda that the Muslims are not participating in T-movement.
Revolutionary poet Gaddar hoped that very soon, the T-state would be formed. Gaddar further said that the community which ruled the country, is striving hard for its bread.
He said Telangana Praja Front would support if they take possession of the Wakf land usurped by illegal occupants. Prof. Kodandaram told that the 42 day strike has shaken the Govt. He said that the foremost leader who opposed the merger of Telangana into A.P. was Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. He tried his level best to stop Nehru from the merger of Telangana into A.P. He said that there is a lot of difference in T-movement of 1969 and the present agitation.
Others who spoke on the occasion were, Prof. Kodandaram Hussain Shaheed, Tariq Quadri, Mahboob Alam Khan, Nusrath Mohiuddin and others.
