New Delhi: BJP MP Vijay Goel today stressed on the need to save the historic walled city which he said were under serious threat due to unauthorised and illegal constructions.
Goel also organised a “Heritage Marathon”, from Jama Masjid police station to Khari Bawoli, to create awareness among the residents of Chandni Chowk area.
“There is an urgent need to save the historic walled city of Delhi whose rich cultural and architectural heritage is under serious threat due to unauthorised and illegal constructions,” Goel said.
There was a need to restore the old charm of Chandni Chowk, he added.
Young tourism lovers and heritage enthusiasts today participated in the marathon while MoS PMO Jitender Singh, Mayor Ravindra Gupta, standing committee chairman Mohan Bharadwaj and MCD Commissioner P K Gupta were present during the event.
