The students and staff of Ghulam Ahmed College of Education run by Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society conducted a one day workshop for school teachers on “Teaching and Learning keeping Scientific Research in Mind”. Dr. Qazi Azhar, Associate Clinical Professor of Michigan State University (USA) participated as Chief Guest. He said that D.Ed., B.Ed and M.Ed courses offered in India do not meet the current requirements of the students. Hence it is necessary to revise them. He pointed out that creative thinking and critical analysis have not been given important place in school education. He told that three factors are necessary to improve the education system. They are: Adopting New Methodology based on modern research, Scientific Enquiry and giving importance to research. He stressed on the need to adopt scientific methodology in thinking process. Prof. Vibah Asthana, Prinicipal of the college welcomed the guests and Mr. Shaik Mustafa, Vice Principal of the College proposed vote of thanks.
