Gold Medals award function to honour meritorious student was organized by Madina Education Center yesterday. Mr. Aziz Pasha, former Rajya Sabha M.P. of CPI presided over the function. Mr. Mohammed Adeeb, M.P., Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman, A.P. State Minorities Commission and Mr. K. M. Arifuddin, Secretary, Madina Education Society addressed the gathering.
In his presidential address, Mr. Aziz Pasha applauded the efforts of Madina Education Society to felicitate meritorious student. He also praised the facilities offered at Madina Study Circle for preparing the candidates for appearing for IAS. He told that this effort is worth emulating. He blamed the Govt. for the educational backwardness of the Muslims.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mohammed Adeeb, M.P. thanked the management of Madina Education Center and told the steps taken by this Center for educating the Muslims is worth appreciation. He also expressed his delight on the efforts that are being made in Hyderabad for the progress of Education among the Muslims. He told that the communal parties like RSS do not accept India as a secular country. The efforts that are being made to terrify the Muslims are worth condemning. He told that there is a need to pay attention to our constitutional and democratic rights. He told that by taking advantage of the provisions of our constitutions, our youths should improve their political and administrative talents. He lamented on the lack of fearless leadership qualities among the Muslims. The communal elements present in administration have completely changed the history of India and they removed the deeds of the Muslim leaders for the independence struggle.
Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, while addressing the gathering stressed the need to avail of the welfare schemes offered by the Govt. He told that a nation whose percentage of literacy is higher cannot become backward. The interest taken in education by the BC, SC and ST communities made them progressive. He lamented that the present education system has become beneficial only to the capitalists. Due to economic backwardness, Muslims are not in a position to get their children educated. This is the reason that the dropout rate of 4th Standard is very high among the Muslim students. He told that there is a need to inculcate awareness about the scholarship schemes of the Govt. He pointed out that due to sanction of scholarships to the poor students the percentage of Muslims in educational institutions increased.
Mr. K.M. Arifuddin gave the details of Madina Education Center for creating awareness among the Muslims for education. He told that there is a need for the Muslim youths to enter administration by passing IAS and other competitive examinations. He lamented that there are only five IAS officers in the State and after their retirements the representation of Muslims in State Administration will be zero in the next decade.
