Hyderabad: Nearly 9,000 seats in engineering colleges are left vacant in Telangana state after the first phase of admissions concluded on Saturday which had started on June 22.
Of the total 69,123 seats available in engineering, B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D courses, 57,940 students were allotted seats in the phase-I. In about 198 engineering colleges with the intake of 66,695, 57,789 seats were allotted with the rest of 8,906 remaining vacant.
According to the Director of Technical Education, M.V. Reddy 100 colleges secured 100 per cent admissions and two colleges could not get even a single admission while three colleges got admissions in single digits. This year, 1,11,461 candidates qualified in EAMCET.
