Nearly 100 drug dealers arrested in Russia

Moscow, January 13: At least 93 members of a major drug trafficking group were detained in Russia’s southern Urals republic of Bashkortostan on Wednesday, an official said.

The criminal group of nearly 100 members is accused of trafficking drugs from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to Russia, Viktor Ivanov, head of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service, said. “The group had some 200 active members. The money they received from selling drugs stood at least 1.5 million U.S. dollars per month,” Ivanov added.

The group is said to have engaged in money laundering as well, and the investigation is continuing.
