SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today accused Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government and incumbent UPA regime of exposing the country’s borders to external threat by accepting Tibet as the part of China.
“By accepting Tibet as part of China, Atal Bihari Vajpayee government and by acknowledging its possession, Manmohan government had given China a chance to enter India anytime,” Mulayam said while addressing an election rally in Bahraich.
“When I was the defence minister, China erected tents near the border. I called the general and asked him to put flags. After that China did not dare to repeat the act,” he said.
Ridiculing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said that “Akbar the Great” was not educated, but he ran the government.
“Our PM, despite being an economist, has done a cruel joke with the country by stating that a person can get lunch or dinner in Rs 28. A person cannot get even breakfast in Rs 28,” he added.
The SP supremo termed Narendra Modi’s claim regarding development, education, irrigation, fertilizer and health as “bunch of lies”.
“Modi in 2012 assured to start metro service in his state, but he has not been able to do so till now. We have already started work on metro in Lucknow,” he said.
Mulayam also defended party leader Azam Khan on his remark over Kargil conflict by making a reference to contribution of Muslims in Indian wars.
“When I was the defence minister, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was my advisor. At that time I and Kalam sahab jointly launched the biggest missile of the country. What crime Azam has done by talking about participation of Muslims in the war?” he asked.
The SP chief said “there was no majority government at the Centre in past 20 years and this time too neither Narendra Modi nor Congress would get majority.
