Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao on Monday alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government has hatched a conspiracy to scrap reservation across the country.
Speaking to media persons here, VHR said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been speaking in a different tone after his recent meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. He said both BJP and RSS were promoting Hardik Patel so as to remove the system of reservation from the entire country. He said despite constituting nearly 27% of the total population, Backward Classes were not enjoying even 9% of the total benefits.
VHR also alleged that the BJP Government was conspiring to engineer communal riots to scrap the reservation. He said all communities, especially the SCs, STs, BCs and minorities, who constitute nearly 85% of the total population, should join hands to defeat this conspiracy. (INN)
