Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the NDA Government is committed to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay‘s ‘Antyodaya’ goal of empowering the poor of the country.
“Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya always aimed for ‘Antyodaya’, which meant development should reach the last person of society. We are fully committed towards this goal. We aim to remove poverty and strengthen the poor in the country,” Singh said at a function to celebrate the 99th birth anniversary of Upadhyay.
“One way is that the government provides facilities to the poor for a long time, and the other way is to make them independent, so that they stand on their feet,” he added.
Rajnath also said the government never tried to bribe people to garner support for itself.
“The prime minister accepted ‘ Antyodaya‘ from his very first day in office, when he said that my government is devoted towards the poor of this country,” he added.
He further said that is why the government was not handing out subsidies. Instead it has started new schemes like the Atal Pension Yojna, the Jeevan Jyoti Yojna, the Jan Dhan Yojna to empower the poor. (ANI)
