Bhopal: Condemning the remark made by BJP Bhopal Lok Sabha candidate Pragya Singh Thakur against former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare, Union Minister and NDA ally Republican Party of India (RPI) president chief Ramdas Athawale on Sunday revealed that the ATS chief had “enough evidence against her.”
Indian Express has quoted Ramdas as saying, “Her name had figured in the Malegaon case and Hemant Karkare (former Maharashtra ATS chief) had enough evidence against her.”
Criticising Pragya Singh for her remark Athawale said, “Karkare was martyred while fighting terrorists to save people. I do not agree with Sadhvi’s statement on Karkare. We condemn it. It is for the court to decide what is right and what is wrong… If left to our party, we would not have fielded her.”
While opposing Sadhvi’s candidature, Athawale expressed hope that NDA would win more than 350 seats across the country and Narendra Modi would be Prime Minister again.
