Hyderabad: Chairperson of National Commission for Women Shyamala S Kudar on Saturday arrived here and inspected the spot where Dr Priyanka parked her Scooty and enquired with the people on the ghastly crime. She was accompanied by District Legal Services Authority advocate Deepika Reddy.
Speaking to the media later, Shyamala felt the gory crime was committed by the four accused in a pre-meditated manner. She also said there was no compound wall to the open place near the Toll Gate where several lorries were parked and lorry drivers were consuming liquor. She also said when they interacted with the locals about the incident, the people told her that though they lodged complaints with the police about the anti-social activities in the area, the latter ignored their pleas for the reasons best known to them.
The NCW chairman said they were told that even when the Priyanka’s parents pleaded with the police to register a case, the latter refused to do so saying that the scene of offence was not under their jurisdiction. She also said the visuals in the CC cameras were not clear due to the negligence of the police. Shyamala also felt that the frightened victim might not got the idea of alerting the police by Dial 100 due to high tension.
