New Delhi: The Prime Minister has asked National Council of Educational Research and Training for an internal review of its school textbooks.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, the contents of all its books will be reviewed, in order to update them with all the new changes done in the last 10 years. They may include goods, service tax and demonetisation.
For the past two years, any changes in the text contents have become a dilemma. Several opposition leaders have claimed that the government wants to saffronize the education.
A senior official of NCERT said that the review process is to incorporate new developments in the market and the surroundings. The last review was done in 2005. The Schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya are affiliated to CBSE, follow NCERT books.
Topics such as demonetisation and changes occurred in the monsoon maps should be included.” Anything which is reviewed and updated is good,” says Ameeta Mulla Wattal, the Principal of Springdale school.
