New Delhi: Chairman National Commission for Minorities Syed Ghayurul Hasan Rizvi welcomed the recommendations submitted by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) to the government for the educational development of minorities. He said by implementing some of the recommendations educational condition of the minorities could be improved and some misconceptions of the countrymen regarding minorities could be removed.
Ghayurul Hasan told that recommendation to open Urdu medium schools in Muslim dominated areas is quite seemly, the government should implement it. He also stressed the need to begin the tradition of celebrating minority festivals.
It must be noted that the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has drafted a manual suggesting that schools are opened in minority populated areas. It also recommended celebrating festivals related to religious minorities in schools.
