The National Conference (NC) on Tuesday said that it has given the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ‘serious and formal’ support for the latter to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have offered our support to PDP now it is for the PDP to take the process forward. It’s very clear that our offer was very formal and serious,” NC spokesperson Junaid Mattu told ANI.
When asked if the support is going to be unconditional, Mattu said, “The letter to the governor states our support to PDP, no conditions are mentioned in the letter.”
A fractured verdict in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections last month left no party with a clear majority. The highest number of seats was won by the PDP, but the party with 28 seats fell well short of the 44 seats required to form the government. (ANI)
