“Nayi Soonch aur Nayi Umeed” sans Advani and Vajpayee

The internal war is hotting up in BJP and recently a BJP campaign poster featuring Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi without depicting top party leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani created a buzz on Thursday, with many seeing it as the unveiling of a campaign highlighting Modi as the party’s tallest leader.

The new poster depicts the image of Modi with the slogan ‘Nayi Soch, nayi ummeed’ leading to speculation that it is the part of a concerted attempt – beginning August 11 from Hyderabad – to make the BJP’s campaign Modi-centric.

This poster and campaign is being launched from Hyderabad and the reason of using URDU language by safron campaign managers.

Earlier, the signature poster of the BJP depicted LK Advani, with the slogan “Sushasan sankalp, Bhaajpaa hi vikalp (BJP is the only option for good governance)’.

This is also being seen by some as part of a build-up that could end in Modi’s announcement as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate.

The battle lines are being drawn between pro Modi and anti camps .

However, the BJP said this was part of individual efforts by party activists to show their admiration for Modi, rather than an official campaign decision. “There has been no decision in any campaign meet for publicity to replace old posters with a new one. These decisions will be taken as time passes. This is nothing but individual efforts by BJP activists,” a party leader said.
