Slain renegade Maoist-turned-gangster Nayeemuddin had roamed in the city and districts in a woman’s attire and various other appearances to hoodwink the police and his rivals, Special Investigation Team chief Nagi Reddy has said.
The SIT chief spoke to mediapersons on Saturday after a meeting in Rajendranagar police station. He said he would soon release the photographs of Nayeem moving incognito as women and others. Nagi Reddy said on Saturday alone, the SIT control room received 60 complaints against the atrocities of the slain gangster. He said he has advised the victims to lodge their complaints with the local police stations and all such cases would be transferred to the SIT.
Stating that Nayeem was principal accused in four murder cases, the SIT chief said Nayeem was stated to be brain behind the disappearance of one Nadeem alias Uday Kumar, Nasreen, Heena and Chiyan. But no complaint has been received in this case so far, he added. He also disclosed that Nayeem used women and children as human shields.
Nagi Reddy said they have identified some 20 houses all over the State as belonging to Nayeemuddin and they would approach the court seeking permission to raid and search those houses. He said they have arrested Nayeem’s close aides Tech Madhu and Kumaraswamy, who allegedly played key roles in the criminal activities of the gangster. He also disclosed that they got valuable information about Nayeem’s assets on Friday. They also registered four cases of criminal intimidation in Korutla and Karimnagar.
