Nayeem case: SIT quizzes retired Addl SP

The SIT officials interrogated retired additional SP Ravinder Reddy and Nayeem’s driver Samuel in connection with the slain gangster Nayeemuddin case at Narsingi police station here on Monday. The interrogation received attention as the SIT was contemplating to submit a charge-sheet within a few days. Ravinder Reddy worked as Choutuppal CI from 1995-97, as DSP of Bhongir from 1997-2000 and Nalgonda DSP from 2003 to 2004.

Speaking to the media after interrogation, Ravinder Reddy said he met Nayeem two times as part of his profession when he was DSP of the Bhongir. He said Nayeem was in jail during that time. He said there was no Nayeem gang during his tenure as Bhongir DSP. “I have no need to indulge in land settlements with Nayeem”, he said and made it clear that he has no single inch of land in Hyderabad.

Ravinder Reddy said he had lands in Nizamabad district. “I revealed whatever information I knew. The officials didn’t ask me about other police officers and political leaders”, he said. (NSS)
