Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy today asserted that Telugu Desam party has vanished in Telangana State and its regional leader A Revanth Reddy was enacting cheap dramas for political mileage.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, the Home Minister lashed out at Revanth for making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Terming the TDP leader a ‘kid’ in politics, Narsimha Reddy said Revanth has no stature to comment against a towering personality like Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He hastened to add that under direction of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Revanth Reddy was trying to enact dramas to protect the identity of the TDP, which was no more in the State. He also advised Revanth Reddy to abstain from belittling the political values by making personal comments against the Chief Minister or others.
Despite Telangana TDP leaders’ efforts to malign the ruling party, the people in the State are not in a mood to believe the TDP lies, he said. The TRS Government has taken up several welfare schemes and developmental programs, he claimed. KCR was committed to complete the projects by spending Rs 25,000 crore every year, he said. He also stated that the TRS Government restored nine-hour power supply to agriculture, restored ground water table through Mission Kakatiya and lakes are filled with water for agriculture operations, he stated.
Referring to slain gangster Nayeem’s case, the Home Minister said the Special Investigation Team was looking into the issue and the government would punish with iron hand all those who were involved in the atrocities of Nayeem. Those who are involved in this case, irrespective of party affiliation, will be dealt with definitely, he said. He claimed that it was the TRS Government that had taken a right and immediate action to put an end to Nayeem’s anti-social activities, while previous TDP and Congress governments failed to touch the notorious Naxalite turned gangster for the reasons best known to them.
