Nayandhalli flyover claim 25 houses

On Tuesday, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) demolished 25 houses near Nayandahalli junction, paving way for completion of a flyover on Mysore Road between Gali Anjaneya Temple and Kengeri.

The demolition carried out by four earthmovers which was supervised BDA officials. The local police had escorted them to put a stop to any untoward incident.

But the drive went on peacefully. A top BDA official said work on the flyover would begin immediately.

The project had brought to a standstill on account of land acquisition issues. But now that all stumbling blocks are cleared, the BDA would speed up the work.
Nayandahalli has become a bottleneck as three infrastructure projects are going on at the same time.

In addition to the Metro rail, two flyovers intersecting each other are being constructed by the BDA. The cost of the two flyovers is Rs 85 crore.

While one flyover from BEL Circle towards Sumanahalli has been completed, another flyover on Mysore Road measuring 1.4 km has not been completed yet owing to obstacles in getting hold of private properties.
