Naxals blow up block office in Bihar following bandh call

Jamui (Bihar): The Naxalites, who have called for a 48-hour bandh in Bihar and Jharkhand, blew up a block office in Jamui district on Monday morning.

The Naxals had called for a bandh on February 15 and 16 over the killing of their commander Chirag Da, who was gunned down by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in an encounter.

The dreaded Naxal Commander, who carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh in Jharkhand and Rs 5 lakh in Bihar, was killed, while the Police Superintendent (operation) Deevakar Narain Pandey survived with a splinter injury in the encounter in a dense forest under Charka Pathar police station in the district.

Chirag Da was the chief of the Military Wing of Poorvi Bihar and Poorvottar Jharkhand special rea committee. (ANI)
