Committee for the Release of Political Prisoner informed that the Naxalites imprisoned in various jails have decided to go on hunger strike against the recently held encounters in A.P. and Telangana. The President of the Association, Mr. B. Tarakam and General Secretary Mr. B. Ravindranath told that the hunger strike will continue. They also informed that a demand will be made to investigate these encounters through a judge of the Supreme Court. Govt. should accept the responsibility of these encounters and apologize publicly. They lamented that the silence of the public is encouraging the attitude of the Government. Two days after assuming power, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu shed the blood of the Grijans in the name of search operations. In the same manner KCR is performing encounters. Instead of superseding the promises of development, they are making an attempt to gain supremacy over the killings. In A.P. in the name of smugglings, unarmed labourers were killed and in Telangana Viqar and his associates who were handcuffed were killed in an encounter. Both the governments have resorted atrocities. They demanded all the social activists and Human Rights workers to make the hunger strike and the protest of Naxalite prisoners a success and also to raise the voice of protest against the government for the protection of human rights
