Ranchi/New Delhi, March 11: Security forces have busted two Naxal camps and arrested an ‘area commander’ besides 20 ultras as part of its first inter-state anti-Naxal operations launched along the Jharkhand-West Bengal-Orissa border.
The operation, which started a few days back, a result of several months of planning, includes security personnel from the Special Action Force of the CRPF besides the local police of the three states.
Official sources said the operation involved the forests of Chaibasa and they plan to secure the porous border areas, which have a strong presence of Naxals.
During the strike on Wednesday, the forces came across a training camp in the forests besides cooked food and utensils for nearly 200 Naxals.
Also, recovered were large quantity of medicines and a well laid out water pipeline for the camp with Sintex tanks.
Naxal literature and 10 Improvised Explosive Devices were also seized, the sources said.
