New Delhi: Mehroonisa Siddiqui, mother of Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been named in BBC’s list of 100 most influential women.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared his happiness on Twitter and posted photograph featuring him with his mother. He also wrote, “A lady who showed courage against all odds being in a conservative family from a small village-My Mother”.

It may be mentioned that Nawazuddin Siddiqui started his career in Bollywood in 1999 with a small role in film Sarfarosh. He acted in many successful films like Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur, Talaash, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Manjhi – The Mountain Man and Haraamkhor.
He won the Best Actor award at the New York Indian Film Festival. At National Film Awards, in 2012, he also received the Special Jury Award.
It may be noted that Slam poet Rupi Kaur, entrepreneur Aditi Avasthi, writer Ira Trivedi and cricketer Mithali Raj are also named in the list.
