Nawaz Sharif heads to Saudi Arbaia for ‘Umrah’

Islamabad: Ousted Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday left London for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, changing his return plan to Pakistan.

Sharif had been in London for a few weeks to see his ailing wife Kulsoom Sharif. He was scheduled to arrive in Lahore on October 24(tomorrow).

During his two-day visit to the country, Sharif will hold important meetings in Jeddah, apart from performing ‘Umrah’ in Mecca, along with his mother, who stays in the same city.

Sharif is due to appear before an Islamabad accountability court on October 26, along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar, in connection with corruption references in his Avenfield properties filed by the NAB (National Accountability Bureau). (ANI)
