Kabul, January 18: NATO forces and Afghan National Police (ANP) investigate Sunday a violent excursion in Kunduz City that left one person dead.
Early Sunday afternoon, a vehicle pulled out of the queue at a vehicle checkpoint, bypassing the first traffic control point.
Despite repeated attempts to warn the driver, including various visual signals and warning shots, the vehicle continued moving toward the dismounted forces manning the second checkpoint.
Service members consequentially fired disabling shots at the approaching vehicle.
Working with Afghani forces, the ISAF transported two injured civilians to the local hospital in Kunduz.
Reports from the hospital stated that one of the passengers died.
