Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has said that he will take up nation wide movement demanding reservations in private colleges.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, VH said that the number of government jobs are decreasing day by day and at the same time the private jobs number was increasing. He stressed that there was a need at this juncture to implement reservations in private sector. He said that out of 43 Chief Justices, only one each from OBC and SC were appointed as Chief Justices of the Supreme Court and five OBC, four SC candidates were appointed as Judges of the Supreme Court out of 219 judges. According to Karia Munda report, the government appointed 850 judges in 21 courts till now and only 31SC candidates were being selected as judges in seven courts and there were no appointment of SCs in remaining courts. Explaining about corporate companies, VH said that 8387 upper caste candidates were working as board members out of 9052 board members and mere 655 candidates have been selected as board members. He said that the Ambedkar aims will not be fulfilled with huge statues and big meetings and called upon the governments to see that one has strive for the aims of Ambedkar.
