National Librarians’ Day was celebrated in the New Seminar Hall of Arts College, OU, today by the Dept of Library and Information Science & Arts College, OU.
Prof. Naidu Ashok, Principal of Arts College was the Chief Guest. Dr. P. Divaker , Consultant Librarian of Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, delivered a lecture on the role of LIS professionals in the electronic age. Prof. Vishwa Mohan, Head, Dept of Library and Information Science, was the chairman of the program.
Dr. R.K. Pawan Kumar, incharge Librarian of Osmania University, Dr Yadagiri, Dr Achala Munigal, research scholars and students of library science participated in the celebrations in large number. The program began with a welcome address by Dr Kandimalla Bharathi, Asst. Professor in the department of Library Science and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. J. Vivekvardhan. (NSS)
