National Initiative on Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI)

Hyderabad: Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India has formulated a new scheme of Rs. 100 crore for funding science projects. Under this scheme funds would be provided to institutions and persons who are competent to promote scientific development but due to lack to funds, they are not in a position to introduce their inventions to the public.

This scheme has been named National Initiative on Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI). Under this scheme Govt. would establish centers in various cities and provide guidance to the young scientists. It is reported that at national level, 10 such centers would be establish where guidance would be provided with modern facilities. For every such center, Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 1 crore would be spent.
