National Herald case: BJP dares ‘irresponsible’ Congress for debate

Mohali: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday accused the Congress Party of disrupting the parliamentary proceedings for its ‘personal freedom and interest’ and dared the opposition for a debate on the National Herald case.

Launching a frontal attack on the Gandhi family, BJP spokesperson G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said the people of the country must know the real facts in this case.

“Let us get an opportunity to expose the Congress Party how they are actually holding India’s Parliament to ransom for their own political and personal freedom and interest,” Narasimha Rao told ANI.

“The Congress Party and its leadership, both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, appear completely rattled under making very objectionable and also irresponsible observations, comments regarding the judiciary in this country,” he added.

The BJP leader asserted that there cannot be two separate sets of laws for the Gandhi family and rest of the nation.

“By making these comments, they are actually insulting the judiciary of this country,” he said.

Dubbing the Congress as ‘irresponsible’, he accused the grand old party of trying to arbitrage its political influence and parliamentary strength to get a levee in alleged acts of criminality.

“It does not give any political party the legitimacy to mortgage a political power or political strength in the Parliament and sacrifice national interest for the sake of protecting yourselves from the clutches of law,” he added.

The Congress MPs have in the last two days disrupted the Parliament with continuous protest over the National Herald case and alleged ‘vendetta politics’ leading to repeated adjournments of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. (ANI)
