National Commission for Women started public hearing at the Old Office of the Commissioner of Hyderabad Police at Purani Haveli yesterday. On the first day, 21 cases were heard. Member of the Commission, Ms. Sushma Sahu, Ms. Praveen (Legal consultant) and Section Officer, Saraswati conducted the public hearing and exchanged views with the officials responsible for investigating criminal cases against women.
The commission also conducted family counseling in which Firdous Begum made a complaint against her husband, Aleemuddin. The Commission commissioned Aleemuddin and offered counseling as a result of which both wife and husband vowed to lead a pleasant life. They signed an agreement before the commission. During the public hearing, complaints pertaining to Cyberabad and Rachakonda were also heard in addition to the petitions received from Hyderabad.
Addl. Commissioner of Police (Crimes and SIT), Ms. Swathi Lakra assisted the Commission during its hearing. The hearing will continue today also.
