National and regional parties fail to provide political reservations to Muslims: Zaheeruddin Ali Khan

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan Managing Editor Siasat hoped that the new government will conduct probe into the killings of 2 lakh Muslims in the name of police action, through high level committee, in the proposed Telangana state. He demanded this while addressing the valedictory session of 4-day international seminar entitled ‘Democracy, Socialism & Vision for the 21st Century’ held by Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika (Telangana Intellectuals Forum), Centre for Dalit Studies, and Democracy Dialogue.

The seminar which was presided over by Rama Malkote was addressed by TJAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram, CPI State Secretary Dr. K Narayana, Prof. CH Hanumanth Rao, and Prof. Keshav Rao Jadhav. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan termed the Telangana agitation as protest against exploitation and injustices. Remembering the 1200 Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Telangana formation he told that more than 9% of them belonged to SC, ST classes. Telangana state owes its birth to the sacrifices of those youth. He also alleged that national and regional parties have failed to provide political reservations to Muslims as all the regional and national parties are not serious in ensuring candidacy and victory of Muslims from any assembly or parliamentary constituency of Telangana except Hyderabad.

Prof. Kodanda Ram assured that Telangana Joint Action Committee will continue its struggle to stop fears of injustices against backward classes in Telangana state in the future. To make the future of Telangana bright TJAC is preparing a vision document.

CPI state secretary Dr. K Narayana deplored the dual attitude of political parties on the issue of Telangana. He alleged that violation of Gentlemen’s agreement of Andhra Pradesh in 1956 is the reason behind Telangana agitation.
