New Delhi: Calling on the Centre to not repeat the mistakes of the previous UPA government by ‘talking and discussions’ over Pakistan and trying to ‘expose’ them, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday asserted that if the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government does not take any concrete action against Pakistan, then the nation will begin to lose faith in them.
Speaking to ANI here, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut stated that it has not even been a year since the Pathankot terror incident where seven soldiers lost their lives, and Uri attack occurred.
“After Pathankot we did the same routine of talks and discussions. We even spoke of a detailed investigation and declared that India will announce the dates of the probe. The nation is still waiting for those dates,” he said.
Branding the Uri incident as the fiercest attack on the Indian Military in history, Raut added that the nation is burning with the desire to teach Pakistan a lesson and take revenge.
Emphasising that at the moment, the entire country was clueless regarding the Centre’s policy on Pakistan, especially after the Uri attack, the Sena leader warned that the nation will lose faith in the government if firm action is not taken against the hostile neighbour.
“Our language was different when we were in the opposition. Now that we are the government, we are making the same mistakes Congress did by going about talks and discussion, peace talks, approaching the UN and trying to expose Pakistan. We don’t need to expose Pakistan as that has already been done. The whole world has agreed that it is a terrorist nation,” Raut stated.
Commenting on Union Minister of State Gen (retd) V K Singh’s statement that action needs to be taken against Pakistan sans emotions and in a cool and calculated manner, Raut asserted that such words cannot be used towards the families of those who have lost their sons to terrorists.
“Politicians’ kids are not in the Army and they do not sacrifice themselves for the nation. Children of the poor and the common man are those who die for the nation,” Raut added.
In one of the worst attacks in recent times, as many as 18 soldiers were killed and over 20 others got injured post the terror strike on an army camp close to the headquarters of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Baramulla district on Sunday.
After giving an assurance of going after the perpetrators of the deadly Uri attack in which 18 army soldiers were killed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday gave the green signal to diplomatically isolate Pakistan at every international grouping.
According to sources, India is to present all actionable evidence against Pakistan if required at international bodies.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) earlier today filed an FIR in the terror strike case and a six-member team will soon visit the site of the attack to collect the evidence in the matter.
According to sources, the NIA will collect the blood samples and finger prints of the four killed terrorists in Uri.
The Army is set to handover all items recovered from the killed terrorists including weapons, navigation maps to the NIA for further investigation.
The NIA will also send the GPS and icon satellite set to the United States for forensic investigation to find out what route the terrorists chose and when and how they entered Indian territory.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) over the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir post Uri terror attack.
