We’ve had enough of dilly-dallying. When one controversy gets over, another one begins. These are tactics by people with vested interests to prevent the implementation of a strong bill,” said 19-year-old Amita Peter, a student of

Delhi University.

Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal, who strongly supported Anna Hazare in his fight against corruption, will also present at the rally.

Kiran Bedi stressed on the need for an effective Lokpal. She said that an honest India is what is needed and that is the main reason behind the nation-wide rally.

“We are all meeting as Indians to bring about an honest India and fight corruption. We want an effective Lokpal Bill to be implemented so that states in India get an active Lokpal,” said Kiran Bedi.

The rallies come a day before the Lokpal bill drafting committee holds a meeting on Monday. The May 2 meeting is the second of the 10-member drafting committee, which includes five ministers and five members of the civil society.
