Nation-wide protests against Wasim Rizvi held; legal action demanded

Panipat: The controversial remarks made by Shia Waqf Board Chairman Wasim Rizvi has invited criticism from all fronts. Demand to take legal action against him is being intensified.

Convener of Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Ghufran Sajid Qasmi also strongly condemned the remarks. He said if Rizvi had at least a little knowledge about the history of his fore fathers he would not have made such a disgusting statement. Does he know that the freedom struggle was initiated by the people who were studying in madrasa.

Uttar Pradesh Jamiat Ulama Vice President Maulana Nazar Mohammed Qasmi said Jamiat Ulama has submitted memorandum to the SP. If police doesn’t register a case we will move to the court. He further informed that Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra has also served legal notice. He urged madrasa administration to serve defamation notice.

Hundreds of activists of Muslim Yuva Manch staged protest procession against Wasim Rizvi and burned his effigy. President Muslim Yuva Manch Abdul Qader said Wasim Rizvi has tried to create hatred between Shia and Sunni.

He added Maulana Husain Ahmed Madani, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and lakhs of scholars studied from Madrasas how can terrorism come into madrasas.
