Nashik students found dead on railway tracks

Mumbai, December 15: Bodies of two youngsters, a boy and a girl, were found on the railway tracks near Khadavali, between Kalyan and Kasara. The police, however, have ruled out the possibility of suicide.

According to the Kalyan General Railway Police, bodies of Shivling Pardesi, 22, and Roshni Khare, 21, were found at Khadavali-Vashind railway crossing early on Monday morning. With the help of their college identity cards, the police found that both were residents of Nashik and were BCom final-year students.

Since their bodies were found close to each other, locals feel it may be a case of suicide. However, the police disagree. Ashok Jadhav, senior inspector, Kalyan General Railway Police, said: “It can also be they were accidentally run over while crossing the tracks. Unless this is confirmed we cannot say anything about the case.”

Jadhav, however, said that both had injuries on the head and multiple fractures. “We are waiting for the post-mortem report to know the exact cause of death,” he said.

Though the relatives of the deceased refrained from commenting on their relationship, the police said that the families had registered missing complaints on December 9.
