Narsapuram tops with 88% polling in by-polls

Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal on Wednesday stated that the state has registered an average percentage of 79.52 polling in the by-elections held for 18 Assembly segments and Nellore Lok Sabha constituency in the State.

Talking to media persons at the State Secretariat, the Chief Electoral Officer said that Narsapuram Assembly constituency has registered highest percentage of 88.77 and the Tirupati Assembly constituency registered a lowest percentage of 54.69.

Earlier, the CEO had stated that Ramachandrapuram Assembly constituency in East Godavari district topped in percentage of voting with 86 and Tirupati constituency registered a lowest percentage of 55.

The following revised percentage of voting reported as per the constituency wise:

Rayachoti’79.53, Anantapur (Urban)’65.9, Rayadurgam’87.85, Udayagiri’82, Macherla’82.71, Emmiganur’76.4, Ongole’78.71, Narsannapeta’80.18, Payakaraopeta-85, Polavaram’87.09, Prattipadu’84.39, Rajampeta’78.50, Railway Kodur’74, Allagadda-82.95 and Parakal Assembly constituency -83.98.

The Nellore parliament constituency has recorded 71.68 percent of voting, he stated. He also stated that no one has lodged a complaint seeking conduct of re-polling in any assembly constituency so far.

He said that the Commission would conduct video conference with Returning officers and Superintendents of Police to discuss over the arrangements of counting votes on June 15.
