Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati verbally attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Mayawati recollected the recent killings in Mathura to lament the jungle raj charge at the ruling Samajwadi Party government. She further went ahead to call both Akhilesh and Modi as communal, saying that one would be always remembered for 2002 Gujarat anti-Muslim pogrom, whereas, the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav would be recalled for his inaction during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots.
“There are 71 BJP MPs from Uttar Pradesh. But the Prime Minister is concerned only about his constituency. What has he done for this state after assuming power? BJP is not performing in Centre. In UP, there is absolute lawlessness. There is only jungle raj here,” Mayawati said.
Making allegations of communalism on both BJP and SP, Mayawati said, “These two parties are two sides of the same coin. We all know what happened in Gujarat and Muzaffarnagar. Modi would be remembered for the 2002 riots. Similarly, the voters would give a befitting reply to Akhilesh Yadav for the inaction shown by his regime during the Muzaffarnagar riots.”
