Water which was released from Narayanpur reservoir some 48 years ago, started reaching Jurala Project from this morning resulting in increase of water level in the project.
According to the information, some 7,380 cusecs of flood water will reach Jurala project. The officials will release 250 cusecs of water from the main canal of Jurala project. The water level in the Jurala project reached 315.20 meters as against its 318.45 meter capacity. In the next two-days, the water in the project would touch maximum level. Thermal power generation may also begin from Thursday. First, 80 MW power would be generated through two units. About 8,000 cusecs of water per unit was required for the purpose. After the power generation, 16,000 cusecs of the water would be released to Srisailam project. (NSS)
