Narayana urges Guv to ensure 7-Hour Power to farmers

CPI State secretary Dr K. Narayana on Friday wrote a letter to Governor ESL Narasimhan urging him to direct authorities concerned to provide seven-hour uninterrupted power supply to farmers and protect withering crops.
In his letter, Dr Narayana said the farmers were getting power supply for only three to four hours a day. Consequently, the farmers were facing hardships due to electrical motors getting burnt on account of frequent interruptions. As a result of power cuts, crops were withering causing anxiety and colossal loss to farmers. Therefore, seven-hour continuous power supply was essential to provide timely water to the crops.
The CPI leader complained to the Governor that Transco authorities were not implementing the government orders with regard to continuous supply of power for seven hours to farmers. (NSS)
